Which one’s more dangerous? Alcohol or Marijuana?

With some states legalizing medical Marijuana, the debate regarding which one’s more dangerous is on. Is it Marijuana? Or is it alcohol?

It has been going on for quite some time now, and it looks like alcohol is on the losing end—but the battle isn’t far from over yet. There are still individuals out there, families, groups and associations, all fighting for this ‘madness’ to end.

According to the latest survey, 69% of Americans believe that alcohol is more dangerous. That’s a great big number if you ask me. And what about the rest of the pie?

Well, only 15% think that marijuana is more dangerous. And the remaining 14% say that neither one of them, or both of them are more dangerous.

It looks like Americans are well-informed, because it does show that excessive consumption of alcohol can be detrimental to a person’s health—and the signs won’t even take too long to show. There’s liver disease and heart disease and different forms of cancer. It’s a scary thought!

And you know what else? Every year, there are around 88,000 deaths that are linked to the effects of alcohol. But if you compare that with marijuana?

Well research shows that it looks like marijuana is far less addictive—even when compared to caffeine.

We’re not saying that it’s not addictive. In fact, it is. Some experience dependency, some also experience withdrawal symptoms when trying to kick off the habit, but the effects are not as intense as when someone is dependent on alcohol, or when they’re trying to deal with it either.

So what do you think? Should we all quit drinking and just turn to marijuana? The choice is yours. I’m not a heavy drinker, but I’ve had a few occasions in the past wherein I woke up with a massive headache squeezing my brain out. I never want that to happen to me again.

But what about you? What do you feel about all this? And even if you agree with us, would you be willing enough to smoke it in public?
