As much as we all want to go solar to reduce our carbon footprint in our daily lives, we are sometimes hindered by the fact that solar panels can be so expensive it would take years before we can get our investment back. It’s a costly investment, but a worthy one nonetheless.
It doesn’t mean though, that we have to. Although we probably need to sometime in the near future, but man will always be creative, and we will always think of ways to harvest all that natural energy to make good use of it.
And your first solar oven can be as simple as an empty Pringles can. The beauty of it is it all starts by emptying that can—and we all know how fun that can be. You know what they say, once you pop, you can’t stop.
Once you’ve emptied it out of all its contents though, you can proceed to making your very own minisolar oven to cook one of man’s most favorite food items—the hotdog. It’s a step-by-step procedure which, luckily enough for all of us, isn’t so hard to follow.
We are definitely going to try this out one of these days. And it isn’t even that hard to do it, you just have to make sure that the sun is out that day, and that you muster enough patience to make sure it’s cooked all the way through. But hey. It’s a hotdog. If it doesn’t work, you could always cook it the old fashioned way, right?
But then again, where’s the fun in that?
